Find Your Sound School of Music focuses on developing strong, confident musicians. Founder Sam Burns primarily teaches guitar and works from the guitar and keyboard to help students clearly understand rhythm, harmony, musical structure, and how to practice effectively.
Rather than chasing short-term results, lessons are designed to build long-term musicianship — helping students understand how music works, grow independently, and develop confidence on their instrument over time.
Some students study exclusively at Find Your Sound, while others pair this work with an instrument-specific teacher. In both cases, the goal is the same: lasting musical growth through mentorship and clarity.

Lesson Formats
Find Your Sound offers private instruction designed around each student’s long-term development, goals, and level of readiness.
Lessons are available in-home within Minooka, Shorewood, and surrounding communities, as well as online for flexibility and continuity.
Select group classes and community programs, including guitar and ukulele offerings, may be available through partnerships with local municipalities.
Private instruction remains the core of the studio, with group programs serving as an accessible entry point into music study.
About Sam Burns
Find Your Sound School of Music was founded by Sam Burns, a guitarist, composer, and educator committed to long-term musical development. His teaching emphasizes clarity, listening, structure, and musical understanding — guiding students to grow confidently rather than simply memorizing information.
Sam brings the same care and intentionality to teaching that he brings to performing and composing, creating an environment rooted in mentorship, patience, and high standards.
