What ages do you teach?
Find Your Sound works with children, teens, and adults. Each teacher profile identifies the ages and experience levels that instructor serves best.
What instruments and subjects do you offer?
Offerings depend on the active teacher roster and include piano, guitar, bass, voice, drums and percussion, strings, woodwinds, brass, ukulele, composition, theory, songwriting, and audio production.
Do you teach complete beginners?
Yes. We match beginners with teachers who can build a strong foundation while keeping lessons engaging and connected to the student’s interests.
Do you teach adults?
Yes. Adult students can pursue a new instrument, return after time away, improve technique, learn songs, study theory, or develop creative and performance skills.
How does a free introductory lesson work?
Free introductory lessons are available with participating instructors. Availability is shown on each teacher profile and confirmed before scheduling.
How are teachers matched with students?
We consider instrument, goals, age, experience, personality, schedule, location, lesson setting, and teaching style before recommending an instructor.
Where do lessons take place?
Lessons may take place in the student’s home or at an approved instructor home studio, depending on the teacher, area, and family preference.
Do you serve my area?
The primary service area is Greater Chicagoland, with select availability in Bloomington, Indiana. Teacher profiles list current areas served.
How much do lessons cost?
Weekly 30-minute lessons are $160 per month. Weekly 60-minute lessons and Family Hour are $300 per month.
How does monthly tuition work?
Tuition reserves a recurring weekly time and supports a consistent mentorship relationship. The studio calendar accounts for planned closures.
Can siblings take lessons together?
Family Hour allows two family members to share one weekly hour for $300 per month, saving $20 compared with two separate 30-minute enrollments.
What if the first teacher is not the right fit?
Contact Find Your Sound. We will review the situation and help explore another available instructor when appropriate.
What happens if a student misses a lesson?
Student cancellations do not require a makeup, credit, refund, or remote lesson. Current policies are provided before enrollment.
What happens if the instructor cancels?
The instructor makes a good-faith effort to reschedule. If that is not possible, the studio’s remote-support option may be used.
What materials do students need?
The teacher recommends books, apps, accessories, sheet music, or other materials based on the student’s instrument and goals.
Do I need an instrument before starting?
Students generally need reliable access to an appropriate instrument for weekly practice. We can help explain what is needed before enrollment.
How often are lessons?
Enrollment is based on one recurring lesson each week, with either a 30-minute or 60-minute format.
When is the studio closed?
The public Studio Calendar lists holidays and scheduled breaks. Monthly tuition is designed around the full studio year rather than a per-lesson count.
Can I switch teachers later?
Yes, when another suitable instructor has availability. We help manage the transition so the student can continue progressing.

How do I get started?
